The US Careers website is a service offering of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC US), the US member firm of the PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) global network of member firms. This statement sets forth the privacy practices that PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP will follow with respect to the privacy of users and the information contained within this Site. By submitting identifying data as a visitor to our website, you are agreeing to PricewaterhouseCoopers' use of such data as described in this privacy statement.

1. What information is collected?

We collect personally identifiable information that is specifically and voluntarily provided by you in order for you to create and maintain a Talent Profile with us. By creating a Talent Profile, you will be able to tell us about your academic background and career interests; submit your resume to our US recruiters; provide us with a means to keep in touch with you; and learn more about our firm. "Personal data" means information about you such as your name, address, telephone number, email address, your academic background, previous work experiences, your preferred work style, level of experience with certain activities, and other personal career interests. Personal information may be collected about you either:
  1. directly from you. Where you are asked to provide such data when you create a Talent Profile or respond to other information requests; or
  2. indirectly, such as through the use of cookies (as described below), to track your use of certain pages of the website (e.g. your internet protocol address), or other technical means to monitor your use of the site.
It is PricewaterhouseCoopers' policy to limit the information collected to only the minimum information required to complete your request. We do not require that sensitive data fields be completed in order for you to submit an online application. However, if you do decide to provide this information about yourself, you do so voluntarily. By providing us with this sensitive data about yourself, you consent to our using that data for the purposes established on the website, in line with the Equal Employment Opportunity act.

Information you submit about your ethnicity, race, gender, veterans status or disability will be kept confidential, except that (1) supervisors and/or partners may be informed regarding restrictions on the work or duties of individuals with disabilities, and regarding necessary accommodations; (2) first aid and safety personnel may be informed, when and to the extent appropriate, if conditions might require emergency treatment; and (3) government officials engaged in enforcing applicable laws may be informed. To ensure the completeness and accuracy of information routinely provided to government agencies concerning our affirmative action and equal employment opportunity obligations, and for these other business purposes, we ask that you complete this form and return it to Human Resources. Your election whether to provide information will not subject you in any way to adverse treatment by the Firm.

2. How will personal data be used?

Your personal data will be used to allow us to review and process your Talent Profile and application to career opportunities that may be of interest to you. When you visit this website, personal data may be collected and processed to allow you to: The information collected by the site will be used by us to evaluate your qualifications for career postings you have applied to or expressed an interest in. We will also use the information to search for opportunities that are better suited for you and to send you information related to recruitment activities and/or career information. Should you be extended an offer and accept your offer with PwC, the information collected from this site may also be used to populate our Human Resource systems so that we can process your information as a PwC employee. Voluntary EEO data collected is used for reporting purposes only and not for hiring decisions. Unless specifically requested by you, PricewaterhouseCoopers will not use personal data collected from our websites to facilitate unsolicited marketing activities.

3. How can I access or change my personal data or withdraw my consent?

You can update the data we hold about you by editing your profile when you sign into the US Careers website site where you submitted your personal data. When you create a profile, you will create your own user name and password which will allow you to update your personal information within your profile at any time. Should you accept an offer with the firm, you will be able to update the personal information we hold about you through internal processes and resources.

4. Is personal data transferred to another country?

By creating a Talent Profile, you are submitting your information to the US Firm for access by our US recruiters, Partners and staff involved in the Sourcing process. Personal data collected by us will not be transferred to other PwC firms in the global network.

5. Is personal data disclosed to other entities?

Data will only be disclosed to certain types of staff within PwC (i.e. staff whose job it is to process your application or inquiries) and they will only process the data for the purposes identified in this Privacy Statement. Personal data will also, subject to applicable law, be disclosed: We do not collect or compile personally identifying information for dissemination or sale to outside parties for consumer marketing purposes, or host mailings on behalf of third parties.

6. How long is personal data retained?

We will keep your personal data only as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Statement and in compliance with the Firm’s data retention policies. When personal data is retained, PricewaterhouseCoopers assumes responsibility for keeping an accurate record of the information once a visitor has submitted and verified the data. We do not assume responsibility for verifying the ongoing accuracy of the content of personal information in your Talent Profile.

7. How is personal data secured?

We have implemented generally accepted standards of technology, including Secure Socket Layer (SSL), and operational security in order to protect personal information from loss, misuse, alteration or destruction. However, the nature of the Internet is, of course, such that the data may flow over networks without appropriate security measures and may be accessed and used by unauthorized persons. Only authorized PwC personnel are provided access to personally identifiable information and these employees have agreed to maintain the confidentiality of this information.

8. Are cookies used on the website?

Cookies may be used on some pages of our site. "Cookies" are small text files placed on your computer that assists us in providing a more customized website experience. For example, a cookie can be used to store registration information in an area of the site so that a user does not need to re-enter it on subsequent visits to that area. A cookie can also hold a variety of information, including the number of times the user has accessed the site, registration information, and the number of times a user has seen a particular advertisement on the site. It is PricewaterhouseCoopers' policy to use cookies to make the navigation of our websites easier for our visitors and to facilitate efficient registration procedures.
