Contract Electrical / Instrumentation (E & I) Inspectors Required across Canada

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Scope of Inspection Work Includes:

•To act as client’s assigned Inspector on Suppliers or Vendors sites.
•To perform the required inspections, witness specified tests and review relevant supporting documentation as required by the given assignments.
•Review Vendor Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) and coordinated witness / hold / review points as specified by the Client.
•Verification of documentation in the Vendors’ Manufacturers Record Book.
•Verify Corrective Actions to resolve any identified Non Conformances during manufacturing.
•Perform surveillance activities as required related to document status; inspection of power and PLC panels, MCC and VFD inspections, loop tests, point to point testing, FAT Testing, expediting, monitoring of scheduling progress and verifications of calibrations, witness activities as specified by the client.
•Verification of scope of supply and any identified design changes.
•Shipping inspections and issue the release for shipment authorization.
•Perform the required inspections and complete status reports and inspection reports as required by the client.

EDUCATION:

Consideration will be given to applicants with minimum:

•Electrical Engineering Degree or Technologist, plus 2 years practical QA/QC discipline-related experience or similar Certified Instrumentation Technologist, Diploma, plus 2 years practical QA/QC discipline-related experience.
•Master Electrician Certification and Red Seal Journeyman Electrician with minimum 5 years related experience.
•High School/Equivalency Diploma, plus 5 years practical QA/QC electrical / instrumentation discipline-related experience.

EXPERIENCE:

•Minimum of 5 years’ experience in related field with experience in PLC, MCC, VFD and Panel construction and testing, overall industrial experience in complete mechanical packages is an asset.
•Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical installation and / or supervision on industrial type projects.
•Minimum of 5 years’ experience in instrumentation installation and / or supervision on industrial type projects.
•Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication (oral , written , listening) skills
•Strong computer skills – working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite- e.g. Work , Excel Power Point , Outlook
•Has experience in working with third party inspectors on various mechanical packages including electrical, instrumentation, hydraulics, piping, boilers and pressure vessels would be an asset.
