| || Develops and manages the operations of the Neuroscience Academic Program and partners with INSI and Inova Health System leadership to oversee and coordinate key strategic academic programs to support INSI objectives and organizational goals.|
Under the supervision of the Vice Chairman of Education, plans, develops and implements education strategies for the Inova Neuroscience and Spine Institute throughout the Inova System. Develops a continuing education program for Physicians, nurses, emergency providers, and physical therapy. Formulates goals and objectives for the programs. Plans, develops, manages and evaluates special topic educational programs. Develops and coordinates the print and social media marketing campaign for educational programs. Ensures quality control for the education program and ensures the programs meet accreditation requirements. Selects, manages, and evaluates vendors and consultants as they relate to continuing educational services. Participates in, and conducts on site review of educational programs. Performs post analysis of programs to determine effectiveness. Manages the expenses and budget for the academic program. Acts as a liaison to other departments regarding the potential for establishing a continuing educational program. Provides training and development for professionals seeking to establish a continuing educational program.
Faculty Development: Evaluates candidates for VICUNA faculty appointments and promotions. Prepares portfolios for the Dean's Review. Acts as a liaison between the Dean's office and the Inova Neuroscience and Spine Institute's faculty.
Residency Program: Coordinates the administration and operations of the neurosurgical residency and fellowship program by ensuring that the educational activities and program requirements are in alignment with the goals and objectives of the program. Ensures recruitment strategies are implemented and managed in accordance to the GME and human resources policies. Demonstrates excellent communication, interpersonal, facilitation, and teambuilding skills in order to develop staff. Maintain responsive, effective, and collegial relationships through collaboration with staff, other departments, as well as internal/external customers. Special Projects: Plans, organizes, and manages the department's annual, semi-annual and ad-hoc meetings.Manages registration. Selects venues, negotiates pricing, evaluates needs for audiovisual and other technology. Maintains expert knowledge in specific specialty and identifies national trends as they apply to the neuroscience population in order to establish needs and Academic Program priorities.
