Associate Postgraduate Dean (Broad Based Training)

The Scotland Deanery are establishing a new core training programme – Broad Based Training which will be launched in August 2018. This exciting GMC approved programme offers trainees the opportunity to develop their specialty career interest through a 2 year programme with trainees rotating through paediatrics, medicine, psychiatry and general practice. The programme will be a national programme with responsibility for trainees across the four regions of the Scotland Deanery. The Associate Postgraduate Dean post is required to cover a portfolio of work that will include initial development and leadership for postgraduate training in Broad Based Training as well as support for other regional activity as part of the senior medical team. The role will involve interaction with trainees and trainers in providing support and improving postgraduate education nationally within the Scotland Deanery.
Applications are invited from trained doctors who are in a substantive NHS or University post. All applicants must confirm prior to interview that their employer would support a Service Level Agreement for this role within their job plan. Some travel throughout Scotland will be required.
