What You’ll Do
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic leader for 1 year in the first instance, to join our senior clinical education team. The post holder will lead on a portfolio of work, primarily providing strategic leadership and future-focused direction for midwifery and child health nursing. This will include providing leadership for the commissioning and monitoring of health visitor and school nurse programmes of education.

The post holder will also contribute to key Directorate development activities aligned to national priorities, and the delivery of strategic outcomes linked to key policy drivers, including Setting the Direction for Nursing and Midwifery Education in Scotland (Scottish Government 2014) and Excellence in Care (Scottish Government 2015) and The Best Start: A Five-Year Forward Plan for Maternity and Neonatal Care in Scotland (Scottish Government 2017).

What You’ll Bring
Educated to Masters degree or evidence of equivalent learning, the post holder will hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and have substantial experience across midwifery and/ or child health practice and education.

Excellent communication, negotiation, organisational, management and leadership skills are essential, along with a good understanding of practice, education and professional structures and processes, including NMC regulation and standards.

Core to the post is the ability to analyse information, understand complex arguments, make judgements and reconcile competing demands.
