| || JOB OVERVIEW
Experienced Executive Assistant to provides administrative support for the office of the Executive Vice Dean for the School of Medicine/Vice Dean for Education and the Associate Dean for Medical Education. The Executive Assistant maintains and manages the calendar, travel, and general office operations for both deans. The Executive Assistant plays a critical role in monitoring email/requests to ensure that deadlines are met and critical meetings are scheduled. The Executive Assistant should thrive in a setting that requires attention to detail, customer-service focused work ethic, and ability to shift priorities. A high level of discretion with confidential matters is key to success in this position.
In addition, the Executive Assistant manages office operations for the U80 medical education suite, which includes approximately 30 staff members and four faculty directors. The Executive Assistant will help organize undergraduate medical education special events, such as farewell parties, welcome receptions, and unit socials. The Executive Assistant reports to the administrative director for the office of medical education and works closely with the manager of special projects and staff engagement.
OFFICE OF MEDICAL EDUCATION
The School of Medicine’s Office of Medical Education (OME) is the administrative unit that supports the Executive Dean for School of Medicine/Vice Dean for Education and Associate Dean for Medical Education, who oversee all health professions education programs for the school of medicine which includes 1,200 teaching faculty, 650 medical students, 1500 residents and fellows and 30,000 continuing education activities each year. UCSF’s medical school was ranked third in research and primary care education by the US News and World Report for the 2017 Best Medical School. UCSF is the only medical school listed in the top five in both categories. The Office of Medical Education sets all strategic directives for medical education across the enterprise. OME is responsible for ensuring the highest quality learning and teaching environment for our programs and the support and development of 100 staff.
