The School of Dentistry’s Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences’ (DDS) Faculty Group Practice (FGP) and advanced education in general dentistry comprises of nine faculty and four residents practicing comprehensive general dentistry. The FGP has one full time dental hygienists, registered dental assistants, and administrative assistants.
The Front Desk Administrative Assistant will greet patients and check in all patients for the Faculty Group Dental Practice; register all new patients which includes data input and to verify all patient information; check insurance verifications in details, schedule appointments for providers and patients; notify DDS/RDA of patients’ arrival; answer and triage patient inquiries by phone and in person regarding: information, appointments, requests to speak with DDS/RDA, emergencies/non-emergencies, referrals with other clinics. Check overnight messages/forward as necessary and fill cancellations whenever possible; handle a wide variety of patient inquiries, in a timely manner, while maintaining excellent public relations. Update changes in patients’ accounts, establish charts for new patients, and request charts for emergency patients. Check pre-authorization requirements. Collect payments and total daily collections (cash, checks, and credit cards). Bring cash bag with collection to patient financial services. Refer billing questions to clinic supervisor/patient financial services. Make financial arrangements.

We provide comprehensive oral health care services with over 120,000 patient visits per year. We offer a four-year DDS program as well as a two-year program for international dentists that culminates in the DDS degree. We have numerous specialty residencies, PhD and Master’s degree programs in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences, a combined DDS-PhD program, and a combined PhD-dental specialty training program. Other graduate programs include Craniofacial and Mesenchymal Biology and Bioengineering, and a DDS/MBA program. The School is one of the preeminent oral and craniofacial research enterprises in the world, ranking number one in National Institute of Health funding for 24 consecutive years.

| || • High school graduation and three years of related administration, clerical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• One year experience in a dental practice specifically in insurance verification
• Experience with using computers and basic scheduling software
• Familiarity with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
• Excellent customer service, telephone and communication, and typing skills
• Ability to be dependable, detail oriented, and professionally interacts as a member of a team with a diverse patient/faculty/staff population. Maintain patient confidentiality
