Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Specialist, Engineering Technical will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the areas of design, development, testing and the large-scale production of new components and production or packaging systems. He/she will lead initiatives to reduce costs and develop innovative solutions, while ensuring standards to maintain compliance in the fields of health & safety and quality are met.
Summary of tasks:
Provide project managers with technical support in the design and modification of equipment and/or manufacturing lines and ensure the cohesion of system modifications to be implemented in line with site requirements. Conduct surveys and propose configurations for the systems and equipment to be implemented to optimize their use in operations. Speak with employees to understand the challenges they face and ensure that the technologies, equipment and systems that will be implemented meet their expectations. Establish requirements with the project manager to design and write URSs (user requirements specification);
Develop and implement new packaging components and/or new technologies developed internally or externally to ensure consistent implementation and optimum performance. Perform production tests with the various stakeholders to ensure functionality does not alter production standards;
Ensure the implementation of standard solutions in line with engineering team reference guides and develop and/or amend these guides in conjunction with the people responsible. Scrutinize the standards in place based on the reliability of components in partnership with maintenance reliability expert;
Support operations for recurring problems by participating in extensive troubleshooting sessions with a view to resolving the issue and bringing about a permanent solution. Implement a solution involving a change to the current system in collaboration with the manufacturer;
Meet with external suppliers to be on the lookout for new technologies. Perform and participate in technological monitoring.
Visit other sites within the Sandoz/Novartis network or other networks in the context of maintaining/improving our knowledge of new technologies.
| || Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience;
Five (5) to eight (8) years of experience in a highly automated manufacturing field, preferably pharmaceutical;
Good knowledge of the stages of project management;
Very good knowledge of ISO/GMP/GAMP standards;
Excellent organizational skills. Oriented toward results and quality. Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Thorough, self-sufficient, rigorous;
Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written.
