QA Automation Engineer

NBC Universal’s Global Media Operations team provides digital workflow tools and services to organizations throughout NBCUniversal including Universal Pictures Group, NBC News, NBC Sports, USA Network, SyFy, Bravo, Oxygen, Telemundo, Saturday Night Live, Late Night, The Tonight Show, and local TV stations. The wide range of services provided by Global Media Operations (GMO) team include centralized conditioning and delivery of critical NBCU film and television assets and distribution of on-demand content and live streaming events to the web and mobile devices. The GMO team is responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting the tools for digital media playback, delivery, syndication, and processing; assisting with support of existing proprietary products, third party applications, media server infrastructure; and researching new tools and standards for our business. As a member of the GMO team, you will play an important role in growing the GMO Video Platform to a state-of-the-industry technology suite.
Develop and maintain test automation processes in alignment with the project and/or organization’s standards and tools.
Manage and enhance QA Automation frameworks, including Selenium, Appium, TestNG Framework, Cucumber, Jenkins, JUnit, BroweserMob Proxy, Sikuli, and related technologies
Perform thorough automation testing on Mobile SDK’s, Apps, and MAC/Windows based browsers.
Participate in early story development and design sessions to suggest and assist in acceptance criteria, boundary tests, and automation plans.
Mature and evolve test architecture through the evaluation and adoption new automation tools, techniques and practices.
Provide framework and test case documentation and training
Competent in the use of source code control systems such as GIT and IDEs such as Eclipse
Monitor and Capture Http Traffic using Charles proxy
Perform manual and exploratory testing as needed
Collaborate with the development and DevOps teams for deployments into the test environments
Prepare and analyze test results to aid in problem solving and facilitate decision-making.
Able to work independently at a high level while part of a larger team
Very high attention to detail, completeness, and an eye towards process and quality improvement at all times
Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to focus on the day-to-day while continuing to execute on the long-term vision of the product
Strong ability to resolve conflicts constructively; a great attitude
3+ Years of Mobile Automation Experience with concentration on Selenium, Appium, and Cucumber
Experience managing QA automation frameworks
Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Zephyr Tool
Proficient in the understanding and application of Quality Assurance best practices and methodologies, along with proven experience in applying standards on major projects and product releases
Proven ability to initiate the sharing knowledge and experiences to facilitate continuous improvement
Experience with cross-browser compatibility testing
Must have experience with CI/CD

BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, and Technology
Looking for a flexible self-starter who enjoys exploring new technology
Preferred experience in production Cloud applications. (e.g. AWS)
Experience in Television/Broadcast, Media, or related field
Experience with interactive media, mobile design & app development
Proficient with programming in Java and or any scripting language like ruby, and python.
Bachelor’s degree in Software Development, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Technology Management, or equivalent experience preferred
