| || Budget Development, Analysis and Reporting: Reporting to the Associate Dean/Director of Budgets and Finance with dotted line to the Asst. Director: manages the administration of 9 budgets for College administrative and student life units representing approximately $19M (Tub 310). Working collaboratively with department administrators, colleagues in the College’s Office of Administrative and Finance and in FAS Finance, assists constituent departments in a variety of financial areas, including: developing annual budgets, identifying funding sources to fund departmental budgets that respect the first-dollar principle, planning strategically to optimize funding, supporting the year-end closing, supporting the use of the FAS financial systems, performing ad hoc financial analyses, and troubleshooting financial questions and/or issues.|
In addition, performs monthly reviews of budgets to monitor spending and works with department administrators to prevent over-expenditures. Makes recommendations to senior management regarding budget requests and program changes with financial implications. Evaluates quarterly budget-to-actual and year-over-year performance for various departments, and provides analytic support and summaries to A&F leadership and to highly visible constituent departments. Provides support in developing financial models and analyses to support the College's financial operations and strategic planning efforts.
Financial Operations: Reporting to the Associate Dean/Director of Budgets and Finance: manages the College central operations including: monthly BRIO data queries and other ad-hoc queries/reports as requested by A&F leadership. Manages the quarterly budget report process overseeing the development, validation and distribution to College units. Manages College-wide local user security for all financial systems. Serves as the College Asset manager overseeing all functions of the Oracle asset system. Performs central accounting functions including: preparation of quarterly accruals and the annual College income allocations. Serves as back up College PCard Administrator. Monitors College unit financial policy compliance, including conducting departmental financial audits, and providing recommendation on post-audit action. Participates in College-wide review of internal financial policies and procedures and ensures successful implementation.
Specific functions include:
Supports the College's efforts to improve the internal and external processes relating to its primary responsibilities: the annual budget and long-range strategic financial plans, and year-end reporting. Included in these responsibilities are budget development, financial analysis, budget support analysis, management, and revenue forecasting of the College’s endowment funds and unrestricted funds. Identifies, evaluates, and monitors endowment funding sources for departmental budgets, and makes recommendations to the Associate Dean regarding strategic budgeting, funding opportunities. Provides data to department/center financial personnel to ensure compliance with endowment fund terms as well as compliance with FAS and University policies. Tracks spending rates against budgets, projections, and individual fund awards, as applicable. Prepares and updates budgets and monitors departmental/divisional funds.
Provides general accounting support to client department personnel, and assists in resolution of budget issues. Provides support to departmental personnel in the use of the FAS financial systems and understanding of financial policies and procedures as required. Supports financial transaction processing for departments. Prepares financial analyses as requested.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience
