Sr. Manufacturing Engineer

Under general supervision leads, coordinates, implements and completes Company engineering projects including analysis and design. Provides support to manufacturing site in the areas of problem solving, and the identification of process improvement opportunities.
Essential Job Functions

Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, safety guidelines, and state, federal and local laws.
Coordinates and directs the activities and functions of plant capital projects; identifies appropriate resources of engineering, contractors, supplies, equipment manufacturer and vendors, which functionally and economically satisfy project needs.
Assist area management in preparing capital expenditure requests.
Coordinates and facilitates the construction and installation of major equipment systems.
Functions as Company representative with equipment manufacturers.
Contributes creative solutions to project problems, utilizing current technologies, and initiates new projects from new technologies.
Provides estimating accuracy and project cost control within department guidelines.
Develops schedules for the phasing and timing of projects in order to meet business needs.
Perform and/or supervise commissioning and start-up
Assist in the development of training procedures and documents for new equipment, systems and processes.
Participates in training programs, which result in the development of a successful working understanding of the material presented, and becomes proficient in assigned duties and tasks.
Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with those contacted during course of work; maintains business integrity in all dealings, whether inside or outside of the Company.
Interfaces with quality assurance and research and development on process requirements for new and current products; develops plans for implementation of new new/modified equipment to support new product lines.
Works in conjunction with Maintenance Department to identify recurrent problems; researches new equipment and process improvements; and recommends and implements equipment upgrades and the purchase of new equipment that better meets regulatory requirements.
Provides engineering support to maintenance and qualification functions.
Researches and makes recommendations to Manager regarding on-site transfer projects and product scale-up activities.
Performs related duties as assigned.

Eight (8) – thirteen (13) years of process engineering experience, preferably in pharmaceutical, food, or cosmetic manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university, prefer BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
