AMEC's Environment & Infrastructure division are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Calgary, AB.

With approximately 50 people in our Calgary Geotechnical group our project work includes: design and geotechnical monitoring of large tailings, assessment, monitoring and mitigation of landslides, geotechnical site investigations and the design of shallow and deep foundations for sites around Calgary, across Alberta and at permafrost sites throughout the Canadian Arctic.  

Responsibilities:
·         Geotechnical engineering and project management role in wide range of projects that are predominantly related to civil, oil sands and tailings.
·         Direction and training of junior geotechnical engineering staff
·         Preparation of technical proposals and reports
·         Opportunity to collaborate with other AMEC offices/geotechnical engineering staff on projects in Western Canadian or international locations.

Qualifications:
·         10 + years of geotechnical field investigation and design experience commensurate with level of professional standing
·         University graduate with a minimum of a Bachelors Degree (preferably with Masters or Ph.D degree) in civil (geotechnical) or geological, engineering; from an accredited university
·         P.Eng. in Alberta, or is eligible for registration with APEGGA
·         Understanding and experience in geotechnical investigations and design of foundations, slopes, dams, tailings management and water management
·         Good working knowledge of geotechnical engineering investigations, field monitoring, foundations, soil mechanics and slope stability
·         Affiliations with CGS, CDA or CIM considered an asset
·         Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
·         Well developed knowledge of Microsoft Office, and technical software used in geotechnical and mining engineering – geostudio, Lpile, FLAC, etc
·         Must have demonstrated leadership abilities and be a motivated team player
·         Excellent client service abilities and ability to meet deliverables on time and on budget
