Position Summary: The General Sales Manager will be responsible for guiding, leading and motivating the Naional Sales teams in Toronto. The GM’s objectives are to maximize the potential of the Toronto sales team to build revenue and market share for the TC brands.
• Sales leadership and ongoing relationship building with Clients & Agencies• Key contact for Corporate Negotiations on Dedicated Business• Profile within the Advertising industry to promote TC Media as a media solutions provider
• Lead Advertising Sales Directors in developing, tracking and evolving yearly business plans, quarterly reviews, weekly & monthly reviews, scorecards, sales funnels per brand, day to day supervision & coaching.• Contribute strategies for revenue growth and optimal structure for our clients’ evolving business needs (for example, integration of print/web sales)• Effectively communicate sales objectives and strategies to all stakeholders (Sales Directors, Reps, Publishers, Digital Team …)• Support Sales Directors and focus sales team resources on revenue driving priorities, while helping to map sales activities to the Publishers’ brand initiatives• Seak, promote and implement best practices within the team and TC Media internal and external partners• Visible leader for clients externally and sales reps internally• Accountable for management of continuous improvement initiatives and projects (ie. CRM, Wilson Learning, Managers Playbook…)• Work in collaboration with the General Manager of Digital Sales to set strategic priorities • Maximize effectiveness and potential of the back office
Education: Minimum college/university degree in sales or marketing or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum 15 years marketing/sales experience. Minimum 10 years management experience.
