Delta - Business Process Improvement
As an internal consultant, you will provide internal consulting support at the level of top general management consultancies for major cross-functional initiatives at American Greetings. Initiatives are in support of the corporate strategy and could vary from growth and revenue enhancement to business and process redesign. This position is a project leadership role and encompasses both strategy development as well as implementation. All projects have significant Senior Management visibility.

Both the Principal and Engagement Manager roles will have exposure across several departments and functional units. Both roles report to the Vice President, One AG, who heads the Delta group. The role level – Principal or Engagement Manager – is dependent on the candidate’s qualifications. While key responsibilities are essentially the same for both roles, project scope and expectations will vary by level.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead 3-6 strategic initiatives per year across multiple functional areas;
• Identify issues and opportunities;
• Provide thought leadership and drive the team to fresh insights;
• Structure and conduct analysis;
• Provide analytical and fact-based decision-making support;
• Assist in development and implementation of work plans;
• Package and present conclusions to stakeholders and business leaders;
• Help to implement change;
• Provide guidance and mentorship to Consultants.

This position provides opportunity for advancement into leadership positions in the business after 2-3 years of Delta consulting experience. To that end, American Greetings is continually looking to hire qualified candidates into Delta as Delta consultants transition into other positions in the business.

There is minimal travel in this position
• Overall 3-8 years’ work experience in a quantitative or analytical role required (e.g. consulting, strategy, marketing, operations, decision science / operations research, statistical analysis, financial analysis);
• Experience with McKinsey, Booz Allen, Boston Consulting Group, Bain, AT Kearney, or 'Big 5' strategic consulting group experience preferred but not required;
• Track record of successfully taking on thought or project leadership roles;
• Superior analytical, problem solving, financial and modeling skills and proven ability to make data-driven decisions
• Ability to structure and answer business questions independently;
• Strong general business acumen and financial acumen
• Strong communication and presentation skills;
• Consumer or retail experience a plus;
• Familiarity with Decision Science / Operations Research techniques to develop optimized solutions a plus;
• Familiarity with ERP a plus.
The qualified candidate will have the following:

• MBA degree from top tier school;
• Quantitative undergraduate degree (e.g., engineering, economics, mathematics) from a top tier school desired.
