Position Title National Facilities Engineering Manager Auto Req ID 1059BR Job Description Overview: The position is responsible for designing and implementing strategic operations programs, providing ongoing field technical support, and administering centralized operations activities. Reports to: IFM Director Supervises: Matrix reporting of engineering team Location: Preference to Toronto Roles and Responsibilities:
Lead and support the engineering staff to create a high performing team.
Support building operations through a highly integrated facilities management and engineering team to assure high infrastructure availability and client satisfaction.
Ensure that communication with the engineering and facilities management staff is effective and thorough.
Provide Subject Matter Expertise to the region and account to support improvements in reliability, service delivery and problem management as required.
Maintain and support a Critical Environment Management program reflecting client requirements and industry best practices. Maintenance Management
Developing and instituting consistent maintenance management practices across the facility portfolio.
Implementation and management of the computerized maintenance management systems/360 in accordance with JLL and client expectations.
Overseeing use of consistent maintenance management key performance indicator reporting.
Identify risks to client facilities and eliminate downtime.
Providing or sourcing technical support for Facility Managers and their engineering staffs.
Administer vehicles and other assets managed Jones Lang LaSalle. Complete inventory and recommend disposition and/or leasing recommendations. Establish maintenance and replacement plans.
Administer technical skills assessments and technical training program of facility engineering personnel.
Develop training programs based on needs gathered through skills assessments.
Help promote adoption of e-procurement solutions by assisting in scheduling supplier partner meetings and developing personal shopping lists.
Assist Strategic Sourcing in bidding, negotiations and administration of regional or national contracts for technical products or services.
Establish self as the internal “go-to” for Chief Engineers needing support. Rely on Technical services/Engineering Services, outside contractors, consultants or internal networking for technical support.
Administer/manage the Jones Lang LaSalle Engineering Services Compliance Program.
Conduct all activities with a focus on cost savings and increase in reliability. Research and implement innovative cost reduction programs. Energy Management
Develop and implement a comprehensive energy management program for the client account, including an Energy Challenge, energy efficiency guidelines, energy audits, occupant awareness and internal/external benchmarking.
Work with Technical Services to design and implement demand side energy management programs.
When necessary, engage utility providers and manage utilities relationship.
Gather and publish energy management best practices and innovations.
Work with Energy Services and Sourcing managers to develop, bid and administer supply side energy management contracts.
Develop and support capital improvement plans for client review and approval. Environmental Health and Safety
Develop and implement a comprehensive environmental health and safety program, including safety training, OSHA compliance, MSDS tracking, and vendor pre-qualification.
Administer compliance with and reporting of applicable environmental health and safety programs.
Develop and roll out standard processes for reporting energy, gas, water, and sewer consumption. Skills/Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in business administration, engineering, engineering technology or related field preferred.
Minimum 5-8 years direct supervision of multi-building operations required.
Strong organization skills and collaborative management style needed.
Extensive mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire suppression system knowledge of commercial/critical facilities required.
