Type of position: Contract




Summary



 



The motion capture editor is vital to delivering high fidelity motion capture data onto production characters.  The motion capture editor will have a good understanding of animation principles and a passion for motion capture.



 



Responsibilities



 



The main and routine functions of the motion capture editor are to:



 





  • Tracks and retargets motion capture data to production characters;


  • Provides support to motion capture specialist to ensure timely delivery of motions;


  • Adheres to project timelines;


  • Other responsibilities may include: setting up the stage prior to shoots, calibrating the system, markering talent, assisting on set, wrapping up the stage post shoot.


 



Training



 





  • Diploma or Degree in Animation or any other equivalent training.


 



Relevant Experience





  • 2-3 years’ relevant experience in a similar position, as a multimedia project coordinator or any other relevant experience;


  • Experience working in film an asset;


  • Experience in the video game industry an asset.


 



Skills and Knowledge:





  • Knowledge of keyframe animation;


  • Working knowledge of anatomy, proportion, perspective and composition;


  • General understanding of poses and realistic motion;


  • Relevant 2D and 3D software experience - Motionbuilder, Maya, 3DSMax;


  • Vicon Blade;


  • Good interpersonal skills;


  • Ability to quickly adapt to change;


  • Ability to work effectively under pressure;


  • Focus on results;


  • Ability to manage several concurrent assignments;


  • Resourceful.
