Our Mining & Metals business performs consulting and EPCM services for many of the world’s leading mining companies and is executing world-class projects on five continents.We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager, Mining & Metals. Reporting to the Operations Manager, Vancouver & Vice President Business Development, North America, this position is located in our Vancouver, BC office. This role has overall responsibility for maintaining strategic relationships with new and existing customers and identifying business opportunities in BC, AB and Alaska and international Markets where Vancouver/Trail can provide scoping through EPCM services. If you have a successful track record and thrive on challenges in a fast paced environment, this is the opportunity for you.Key responsibilities:- Directing efforts and activities aimed at maintaining and deepening relationships with new and existing mining clients.- Implementing business development processes and marketing strategy aligning with those of the Mining & Metals North America and regional needs- Identifying and developing business opportunities/plans for AMEC Vancouver and establishing and leading proposal strategies to win major, complex projects including presentation preparation- Directing and supporting the preparation of proposals, aligning regional/global client pricing, reviewing proposal pricing and content, as well as developing marketing materials with the Americas Marketing Lead - Actively participating and directing research activities to identify market opportunities and monitoring competitor activities. Actively contacting, engaging and strategizing these opportunities.- Actively pursuing and acting as Client Rep for the AMEC Vancouver/Trail office at client meetings and industry functions, within industry organizations and communities where agreed with Vancouver Operations and Vice President BusinessDevelopment, North America.Role Requirements:- A university degree in a relevant technical, financial or business discipline.- Over 15 years of proven experience with an EPC/EPCM company, mining operating company, vendor or mining contractor.- Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills.- Knowledge and understanding of commercial, economic and business issues relating to the mining industry, and knowledge of and relationships within the industry- Project Management experience within an EPC/EPCM environment would be a strong asset.
