AMEC’s St. John’s, NL office currently has an opportunity available in Project Controls. Reporting to the Unit Manager functionally and the Project Managers administratively, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide support for a large and diverse number of small to medium sized projects in an ISO-9001 2008 consulting environment. ·        Develop and maintain a project database tracking costs, schedules, deliverables, report schedules, change orders and contracts for all ongoing projects in the unit
·        Run meetings with Unit Manager and Project Managers to address issues and provide updates on status
·        Interface on a continual basis (as a team member) with administrative staff
·        Maintain direct accountable contact with clients, on an as needed basis, on matters pertaining to project controls as dictated by the Unit Manager and the Project Managers
·        Monitor progress of multiple on-going projects (up to 50) against plans, budgets and schedules and report on status
·        Be prepared and willing to travel for projects or assignments as they arise
·        Engineering Degree or Civil Technology diploma is an asset
·        Strong construction planning, scheduling, and project execution experience is essential
·        Must be able to work and deliver in a fast pace team oriented environment
·        Must be a strong communicator, able to effectively run meetings and communicate clearly and accountably with clients, staff and co-workers
·        Minimum of 10 years experience in project controls, planning, and scheduling
·        Experience with most up to date versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, MS project, Primavera
·        Experience and knowledge in the ISO-9001 quality management systems would be an asset
·        Experience and knowledge in the Geotechnical and Environmental consulting areas would be an asset
·        Must be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
