Summary:

To direct the Warehouse Department in the coordination of production scheduling, warehousing, and distribution of product to ensure that products are produced and delivered to internal and external customers in a cost-effective and timely manner. To ensure that adequate inventories are maintained to meet customer demand. Monitor and manage all materials needed for production as well as to manage problem product inventories and maintain warehouse capacities. Providing for the delivery of product can be made difficult due to a number of uncontrollable factors such as age limitations and low inventory of bulk ribbon, production and transportation problems and changes in our customer demands.


Job responsibilities:


  • The Warehouse Department's primary role is that of developing and coordinating information from a number of different sources to ensure that production departments receive appropriate product scheduling and shipping information.
  • Production scheduling and balancing “all” customer needs when faced with production issues is one of the main focus areas of this position.
  • The jobholder's major functions include: the taking of accurate physical inventories, reconciling daily usage reports, ensuring accurate and timely loading/unloading of trailers, and reviewing out-of-spec finished products with Quality Control to meet our shipping needs. As well as to ensure our customer service.
  • Manage the Roswell Plant’s quality and service programs to achieve the goals stated in the Business Plan.
  • Manage the Roswell Plant’s and Department’s financial performance to assure that a quality product is provided at the least possible cost.
  • Manage the plant’s capital, maintenance, upkeep and operational improvement programs effectively.
  • Foster a leadership and management environment consistent with our Corporate Philosophy within the Roswell facility.
  • Develop the core leadership/management competencies and technical skills of our people, emphasizing individual and organizational development necessary to provide the people resources needed to achieve the Leprino Vision and Mission.
  • Promote a safe working environment in our facility and ensure the core principles of Leprino Quality are integrated in our daily business.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


  • The position holder, through production scheduling, has an impact upon the plants operating costs as product volumes affect operational efficiencies and manning.
  • By working with corporate product management and plant personnel, this person must work toward meeting all customer orders and utilizing the production departments in the most cost effective manner.
  • The incumbent affects customer service through the scheduling of deliveries and maintaining inventory levels to ensure that adequate product is available or can be made within our customer’s specifications.
  • Performance in this position can be measured by the department's contribution to customer service issues and through the availability of product, timeliness of shipments and customer complaints caused at the point of shipment.
  • Performance against budget for product movement (PPLH) and additional storage costs if not needed.
  • Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), recordable incidents of OSHA and insurance accident, (frequency goal); and the effectiveness in interacting with other departments and plants for smooth coordination of product movements.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • AG business or related fields or commensurate materials management experience 3-5 years.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business management or materials management or similar program.
  • 5-10 years progress leadership experience
  • Microsoft applications, SAP
  • Must be knowledgeable in materials management, warehousing, computerized inventory, production management, and transportation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required in the daily management of Warehouse activities.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Warehouse experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment, food, dairy, or cpg preferred.
  • Collaborates with employees to build clear expectations and meaningful development plans that optimize on the job experience to learn.
  • Contribution to customer service issues and through the availability of product, timeliness of shipments and customer complaints caused at the point of shipment. Performance against budget for product movement (PPLH)
  • Handles the extra work brought on by changes or priority projects
  • Employee morale, as evidenced by attendance, training and employee productivity, and turnover
  • Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), recordable incidents of OSHA and insurance accident, (frequency goal); and the effectiveness in interacting with other departments and plants for smooth coordination of product movements.
