We currently have a senior leadership opportunity for an
. Reporting to the Program Director, this position is located in our downtown Vancouver, BC office. This role has overall responsibility for managing multi-disciplinary engineeringproject teamsto ensure successful execution and completion of multiple Transmission and Distribution projects. Managing engineering and support/design teams (up to 200 staff) on multiple Transmission and Distribution projects (projects range up to and over $100 million in scope).
Allocating resources within defined project budgets.
Implementing departmental processes and procedures to ensure successful and cost-effective delivery of performance on multiple projects.
Conducting technical/design reviews on projects.
Providing technical direction to design teams.
Troubleshooting and resolving design/technical issues.
Interfacing with clients’ senior management to ensure clients’ standards/requirements are met.
Reviewing and providing input on policies and procedures governing project management, project controls, engineering and procurement that impact engineering activities.
Recruiting employees; assigning, directing, and evaluating their work; and overseeing the development and maintenance of staff competence and performance.
Assessing skill/performance gaps of team membersand determining and implementing appropriate training plans, including budget creation and approval.
Creating a collaborative and engaged team through positive mentoring/coaching and other innovative strategies.
Ensuring project deliverables satisfy AMEC’s quality standards and are implemented in a timely and cost effective manner.
Working with clients, engineers, and leadership team to understand project and client requirements and preparing and presenting solutions.
Providing relevant engineering design data and advice for proposal generation.
Managing departmental budgets.
Minimum 15 years engineering experience in an electrical engineering or a transmission and distribution organization.
Minimum 8 years experience in progressive leadership roles
Excellent communication, mentoring, coaching and collaboration skills.
Ability to create and implement innovative strategies that foster company growth and diversification.
Exceptional organizational, interpersonal and client relationship skills.
Extensive Transmission and distribution experience required.
Engineering Degree required.
PEng or ability to obtain in short order
Open to possible travel.
