Lead Communications Engineer
The successful candidate will provide technical thought leadership in the context of network and communications systems engineering support to the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The technical scope of this role spans the end-end capability and from the application layer to the physical layer. Analyzes communications systems requirements including interface and hardware designs and identifies candidate novel technical solutions. Conducts proof of concepts through system level and component level trade studies, analyses, and simulations in laboratory environment. Further validates and implements concepts in appropriate field environments. Reviews and assesses contractor designs. Participates in technical interchange meetings and government-led studies. The candidate will work approximately 75% of time on site with the Government team.

Education background in
â€¢ Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optical Physics, Operations Research or other fields related to the above
Plus experience in two or more of the following areas:
â€¢ Military Communications Systems (Terrestrial, airborne, Satellite, RF, mobile)
â€¢ Commercial technologies (optical transports, MPLS, IP, cloud implementations, XX as a service)
â€¢ Mission Assurance (encryptors, IA, CND, critical infrastructure)
Minimum Education/ Experience
BS and 8 years related experience.
*This position will require overnight travel up to 10 % of the time as well as some local travel.
To be eligible for consideration for this position, a current Top Secret clearance is required.
