About the Research & Development Team:
The Research and Development team, based in our Palo Alto office is responsible for developing Ad Placement and and Revenue Optimization technologies known as AdLearn and contributes by participating in various software development projects. You'll work with a small ,fast moving and highly talented R&D team at the very core of AOL Networks. While the work environment is casual, you will be among the brightest minds and will be pushed to the edge of your intellectual capabilities. This is an internship for someone who likes to proactively solve problems and be challenged by unique coding assignments and is intrigued by advanced mathematics!
Some responsibilities may include
1. Work with a mentor engineer to understand existing software and provide feature enhancements
2. Research a new technology and prototype software with this technology
3. Collaborate with mentor to improve robustness of software components
4. Partner with researches to help implement research concepts
5. Work with business analysts to understand and document online advertisement campaign management and reporting requirements
6. Work with Data Engineers to help and improve large data structuring, management, and monitoring
What we're looking for:
•MS candidate majoring in Computer Science or related field, Undergraduates may also be considered
•1 – 4 years experience in one or more traditional languages (C/C++/Java/Perl/C#)
•Experience with basic database design and SQL is a plus
•Experience working with Linux / Windows
•Excellent software testing and debugging skills
•Interest in learning new technologies
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•Strong problem solving skills
•Likes to work in a fast pace and intellectually challenging environment where requirements can often change as new discoveries are being made
•Likes to have fun!
This is a paid summer internship in our Palo Alto office. The intern is responsible for their own relocation and housing.
