Applications Engineer

The main role of the Application Engineer is to provide highly detailed, competitive and accurate sales quotations that meet customer specifications in a timely fashion. They will be accountable to read, interpret, and comment on all customer specifications, develop detailed scope of supply, work with Engineering, and provide technical and commercial support to the Sales force. This will require an engineering background to ensure all customer technical needs are met while providing the best possible price. This position will support the Twin Screw, Multiphase, Gearex, FRBH, and M Pump, product lines in Brantford. This position is based in Brantford, Ontario.
Review request for quotation for the quality and influence of spec to recommend feasibility of project.
• Prepare proposals for new pump applications.
• Evaluate customer requirements, specifications, and other pertinent data.
• Assure proposed equipment meets technical and performance requirements.
• Obtain cost estimates for all components, engineering, machining and sub-vendor supplied equipment.
• Ensure that all proposals meet company standards for accuracy.
• Work closely with sales force to facilitate sales efforts.
• Review customer orders to ensure they are acceptable relative to commercial terms, price, and delivery prior to processing.
• Cooperate with other departments to execute customer orders and meet customer requirements as needed.
• Provide product support to sales, distributors, representatives, and other Flowserve locations.
• Participate in pre- and post- award meetings if required.
• Special projects as required.
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical and or Electrical Engineering preferred)
• 2+ years of related experience preferred
• Experience with rotating equipment and / or complex systems preferred
• Strong computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good organization and time management skills
• Detail oriented
• Conscientious and self-motivated individual with the ability to complete tasks on or before commitment date
• Ability to work in a team environment
