JOB DESCRIPTION: The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is the clinical lead for a program or an area of defined nursing practice. The CNS provides leadership in order to integrate new knowledge and innovation within a specialty area. The CNS's specialized knowledge and skills are used within the three spheres of influence: patient/family, nurses, and the organization/system. The CNS and Nursing Director(s) collaborate to lead clinical practice and education on the unit, with in the division, and across the health system. The CNS is accountable for designing, implementing, and measuring safe, cost effective, evidence-based care strategies. The CNS contributes to the advancement of nursing practice at the unit/system, local, state and national and international levels. The CNS is instrumental in the application n of the Professional Practice/Care Transformation Model across the health system.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia; Masters degree in nursing; Meets GA Board of Nursing requirements for CNS; Three years of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse with at least two years of recent experience in the area of concentration.
Certified CNS in Oncology with 3-5 years clinical experience.
3 twelve hour shifts.
